Muslim Statistics: Briefings

The British Muslims in Numbers report is a landmark study profiling the state of Muslims in Britain based on 2011 Census data.

Following the report, a series of 1-Page Briefings were published highlighting specific findings from the study and key recommendations. These can be downloaded in PDF format below.

• Briefing 1 – Britain’s Muslim population is very young
• Briefing 2 – Elderly Muslims have greater health concerns
• Briefing 3 – Doubling in number of elderly Muslims by 2021
• Briefing 4 – Significant proportion of Muslims in Britain are educationally well-qualified
• Briefing 5 – Employment is more challenging for Muslim women
• Briefing 6 – Nearly 1 in 5 British Muslim Adults are in full-time education
• Briefing 7 – Half of British Muslims face poverty and deprivation
• Briefing 8 – Nearly 3 in 4 Muslims state their only National Identity as British
• Briefing 9 – British Muslims are ethnically diverse
• Briefing 10 – British Muslims are geographically diverse
• Briefing 11 – Offenders from Muslim backgrounds
• Briefing 12 – Lone Parents and One-Person Muslim households
• Briefing 13 – Nearly half of Muslims are born in the UK
